UPC Valorisation Prize

The UPC Valorisation Prize has been established by the UPC Board of Trustees to encourage knowledge utilisation from university research. The prize is awarded biannually to a UPC researcher or research group within the categories of tech trasnfer project, patent and tech based firm / spin off.

The 2015 award winners of category 1 (best tech tranfer project) and 2 (best patent) are:

Category 1: Energy hybridization and micro smart grids, the project led by CITCEA researcher Daniel Montesinos aimed at opening new areas in the field of smart grids by developing equipment capable of generating, storing and managing renewable electricity

Category 2: CELBIOTECH, by prof. Teresa Vidal, the aqueous compound that modifies the properties of cellulose-based materials, making it a source of considerable energy savings for the paper manufacturing.
