Oct 13, 2015
EUA’s work in the energy field and in particular the progress of EUA’s UNI-SET project was presented at the annual SET-Plan Conference which took place on 21-22 September in Luxembourg.
This year’s conference was entitled "Research, innovation and competitiveness for the Energy Union" and aimed to launch a European debate on the new SET-Plan communication and the next steps for its implementation in accordance with the 'Energy Union'.
The Chair of the EUA-EPUE (European Platform of Universities in Energy Research & Education) presented the first results of the UNI-SET Universities Survey which underline the substantial contributions of universities, the UPC among them, in delivering the objectives of the SET-Plan. The survey results show that universities are not only conducting research and offering Master programmes in all SET-Plan priority areas, but also link research and education in the energy field to equip their graduates with the tools and knowledge to be innovators and change agents in society.
Finally, his presentation featured a preview of the “European Atlas of Universities in Energy Research & Education” created by the UNI-SET project, which will be released in the next weeks.
