Cutting-edge technological solutions at the SCEW

The Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC), the international summit of discussion about the link between urban reality and technological revolution, brought this edition work of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), that through the Center for Innovation and Technology showed innovations and technological solutions in this area. The solutions that are designed by UPC researchers have applications in the field of energy management among others.

FertileCity II, a vertical urban agriculture project focused on the integration of water, energy and CO2 flows into greenhouse roofs was presented at the congress. It is the continuation of an earlier project to create a horticultural production system, through multidisciplinary tools including experimental, real-scale, instrumentation and contrastive numerical simulations.
