New propulsion system for micro and nano satellites

Miquel Sureda, professor and researcher at ETSEIAT (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech UPC), in collaboration with Javier Díez, professor and researcher at Rutgers University (New Jersey, USA), has discovered that it is perfectly feasible to use the electrokinetic effect to propel microsatellites into space.

The micro-drive system proposed by the researcher from UPC (Campus Terrassa) would enable small satellites move in the middle of space, with great precision and efficiency, and saving energy.
