MED-SOLAR, more than one year of project
Mar 28, 2014
The MED-SOLAR project starts obtaining results from the promotion and implementation of innovative solar technologies in public facilities and buildings.
The Electronic Engineering Department (UPC) is partner of the MED-SOLAR consortium, which aims to transfer innovative technology in the field of solar energy from the EU to Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine, in order to improve the energy situation in these countries.
During this year MED-SOLAR has organized 3 Workshops in Jordan, Palestine and Lebanon and 4 pilot projects are already being implemented in order to validate the prototypes of energy management systems developed in the project for grid connected with diesel back up PV systems.
The project is implemented under the ENPI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme. Its total budget is 3.021.590€ and it is financed, for an amount of 2.656.771€ , by the European Union through the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument.
The ENPI CBC Med Programme aims at reinforcing cooperation between the European Union and partner countries regions placed along the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
