Launched a report on water resources in Catalonia

The report was launched yesterday, May 24, at the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona. The document, sponsored by the latter and entitled "Water resources in Catalonia: basic concepts and data," has been produced by Josep Dolz and Joan Armengol, professors at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. BarcelonaTech and Universitat de Barcelona, respectively, and also at FLUMEN (Fluvial Dynamics and Hydrologic Engineering).
The study aims to identify water needs and availability of resources in Catalonia, as well as, to analyze possible actions to secure long-term supply within the context of integrated management of water resources. The information is presented through basic concepts and data to encourage reflection and dialogue, and deals with topics such as Hydroelectricity.
Experts from other universities and companies have also collaborated in preparing the report, which addresses water topics from a territorial, sectorial, economic, social and legal point of view.
