ICFO researchers receive funding for ERC Proof-of-Concept study
Nest Fellows Professors Frank Koppens (ERC Starting Grant ’11) and Gerasimos Konstantatos from the Institute of Photonic Sciences - center attached to the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya·BarcelonaTech - have been awarded a Proof-of-Concept study grant from the European Research Council (ERC) for their project GraQuaDot, which aims to develop novel ultrasensitive imaging sensors based on graphene-quantum dot hybrid technology.
The ERC launched the new funding initiative, called "Proof of Concept", in March 2011, open to researchers who have already been awarded an ERC grant. ERC grant holders can apply for this additional funding to establish the innovation potential of ideas arising from their ERC-funded frontier research projects.
