New solar collector system Dish Stirling installed at ETSEIB

On June 12, ETSEIB launched a new solar collector system Dish Stirling on the roof.

The solar field consists of a parabolic dish as solar collector of around 4m diameter as part of the European project DIDSOLIT-PB, coordinated by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and funded by ENPI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme.

The Dish Stirling model have a rated power of approximately 1 electric kW in AC and 3 kW of hot water. The electricity produced is meant for self-consumption, and hot water for gym showers.

CITCEA-UPC will monitor the performance of the equipment in accordance with the manufacturer instructions. Antoni Sudrià, head of CITCEA, gives more details in the following interview (in catalan).
