ETSAV presents the (e)co solar house at Construmat

The new model of sustainable house is based on more efficiency, more performance and more comfort, using fewer materials, less energy and less cost.

The (e)co team of the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura del Vallès (ETSAV - UPC), presents at Construmat (the International Construction Exhibition held in Barcelona) the model of sustainable solar house that will participate in the Solar Decathlon Europe 2012.

The (e)co project is a model of self-sufficient house based on the principles of zero carbon footprint and zero economic footprint. Therefore, offers more efficiency, more performance and more comfort while using less material, less energy and less cost. In addition, the practical organization of the building systems is in accordance with its life cycles.

The ETSAV (e)co team consists of students and research groups from Campus Energia plus, companies and public entities. It is one of the 20 university groups participating in the next edition of the international competition organized by the Ministerio de Fomento in collaboration with the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and the Department of Energy of the United States.
