Conference Distinction highlights EuroEnergest strengths

The closing period of the EuroEnergest Project is an intensive integration of many separate developments across this European Consortium. At the SEAT Plant in Martorell, Spain, the Consortium has closed the gathering of historical energy consumption data, and has begun finalizing implementation of all optimization components to yield results.

Industrial Energy Management System (IEMS) is a cutting-edge area of sustainability research, and the EuroEnergest Consortium recently received recognition for its presentation at the IECON’2014 in Dallas, Texas, USA, in November 2014. In addition to chairing several components of the proceedings, consortium member UPC won the distinction of “Best Presentation” in its category of Predictive Control. UPC team leader Konstantinos Kampouropoulos (Motion Control and Industrial Applications - MCIA) commented that the recognition reinforces the drive toward project success. The distinction stands out among the many research developments produced under this European Commission project.

Konstantinos Kampouropoulos received his electrical engineering degree from the Public Institution of Higher Education of Western Macedonia in 2009. He is currently studying for a PhD at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya dealing with optimization algorithms and energy efficiency.
