CARNET DAY

On Wednesday June 1 will be presented at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya The initiative CARNET Creating the Future of Urban Mobility. The consortium created between companies SEAT, Volkswagen Group Research and UPC aims to be a platform of understanding and cooperation between industry and universities from which to develop a new vision for the future of urban mobility and the automotive big cities. For this reason Barcelona has become a laboratory in which to test new technologies and develop innovative solutions that can transform the metropolitan area a better place to live.

The mobility in the automotive industry is undergoing a paradigm shift that is needed for new skills and technologies in the future. Under this vision, mobility still seen as an end in itself to become a community service for the advantages it can offer a smart city like Barcelona.

CARNET initiatives currently underway focus on the development of new mobility concepts in the future (from multimodal hubs to new conceptions of car sharing platforms, geolocation free parking ...) and new technologies associates (vehicles connected, autonomous driving, etc.).
