The UPC.BarcelonaTech, on request from the Department d'Ensenyament (Generalitat de Catalunya), aims to make high school & vocational training teachers become familiar with the centers, institutes and laboratories on campus pioneers in technological development and with the scientific research carried out there and its industrial application. It is important that teachers know the latest innovations to teach their students, and thereby encourage scientific vocations.
The objectives of the session are to visit the BSC and the MareNostrum supercomputer, learn about technology transfer and research lines in supercomputing, and design a student activity related to the topic.
The activity is designed by the Institute of Education Sciences (UPC) in collaboration with the Communication and Promotion Service of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), recently awarded the National Research Prize for public-private collaborations, and designated Center for Advanced Training in supercomputing by PRACE.
