Created in 2002 by the U.S. Department of Energy, the Solar Decathlon is an international competition open to universities and institutions of higher education worldwide, giving them an opportunity to compete in meeting a challenge: “Design and build a solar house that is energy independent”.
For third time in a row, the UPC is one of the 20 teams selected to participate in the next SD competition, hosted by France in June and July 2014 at the national Domain of the Palace of Versailles.
RESSÓ is the project developed by the ETSAV students for the SD competition, a proposal based in achieving an architecture that consumes low energy by using low impact materials, closing cycles and giving importance to passive systems .
