Basic Course in Nuclear Science and Technology

The main objective of this course is to bring to the participants the general notions and the most relevant aspects of nuclear science and technology: fundamentals of nuclear physics and radiation, operation of nuclear power plants, nuclear safety, radiation protection and radioactive waste management . Other applications of ionizing radiations will also be discussed and the course will be closed with an analysis of the role played by nuclear energy in the sustainable development of a country.
