UPC Award for vocational training projects
The project entitled "Automatització sostenible del procés de càrrega de contenidors del Port de Barcelona" submitted by three students from the Institut Escola del Treball de Barcelona wins the UPC Prize in the vocational training category. The UPC Prize awards the best projects in Architecture, Science and Sustainable Technology, and this year has received 115 proposals from 133 students from all over Catalonia.
The award-winning project aims to improve and automate the loading/unloading system for containers at Port de Barcelona using PV solar energy. Improvements would generate better performance in both environmental sustainability and economic aspects, while minimizing labour risks.
