ETSEIB Motorsport and Dynamics UPC reach Formula Student podium
ETSEIB Motorsport’s electric car took third place at a competition in the Czech Republic, and Dynamics UPC finished second in the combustion class at Formula Student Netherlands. The final competition of the season for both teams was Formula Student Spain, where the rest of the UPC teams – UPC ecoRacing, e-Tech Racing and Vilanova Formula Team – also took part.
The veteran ETSEIB Motorsport team of the Barcelona School of Industrial Engineering (ETSEIB) finished third in Formula Student Czech Republic thanks to good results in the various static and dynamic events. With improved aerodynamics and a significant reduction in weight, the team’s electric single-seat racing car got the highest scores for Cost and Manufacturing and Skid Pad, with a time of 4.86 seconds.
In other results, the team finished 16th in Formula Student Germany, with a score of 401 points, and 18th in Formula Student Spain, with a score of 365 points. In the Spanish competition, the vehicle’s performance was hampered by a series of braking problems that led to it being withdrawn from the Endurance event.
