Fira del Coneixement is aimed at promoting the leading research projects developed by UB and UPCBarcelonaTech in the field of Science and Technology. The event is meant to encourage young students to enrol in scientific careers and to show that science is within the reach of everyone. The activity programme includes conferences, a trip to Serra de Queralt Emprius, a chemistry exhibition and research stands.

Carme Calderer from the University of Minnesota will address the opening conference "Mathematics in the 21st Century: from galaxy simulation to virtual medicine".
